From The Muddy Banks Of The Finger Lakes
last weekend, while attending some concerts in the upstate NY area, we camped out in the Finger Lakes Region. I wanted to hit more spots than time would allow, but oh well. He spent a few days on Cayuga Lake with a rented canoe. We didnt haul in a bass worth mentioning all weekend, but there was still plenty of action. Yellow Perch and White Perch were abundant, the biggest one being an 11" Yellow Perch. We fished crankbaits and creatures, power worms and spinner baits. When these amounted to nothing, we threw some nightcrawlers on and the perch-fest began... not what we were lookin for... but it was hot as hades and we were happy for some action.
Ya dude, the lakes are freakin huge, realllly hard to cover any real territory with a canoe. The concerts were sick... the fishing not so much.
MY FRIEND AND I HIT UP THE FINGER LAKES IN 2007 AND ALSO HADS NO LUNKER LARRY'S WE FISHED FOR 3 DAYS................WE GOT REALLY HAMMERED AND SUN STROKE BESIDES THAT THE FISH WERE SMALL AND FEW AND FAR BETWEEN FOR A FAMOUS FISHING SPOT.
